October 21, 1910 – October 10, 2005 Gordonville รข?? Funeral Services for Mae Hughes, age 94, will be 10 A.M. Thursday, Oct. 13, 2005 at Gordonville Baptist Church, officiated by Rev. Rusty Waller. Interment will follow in Gordonville Cemetery directed by Meador Funeral Home of Whitesboro. Visitation will be held Wednesday, Oct. 12, 2005 from 7 to 8 P.M. at the funeral home.
Mrs. Hughes passed away Monday, Oct. 10, 2005 at Wilson N. Jones Medical Center in Sherman.
She was born Oct. 21, 1910 in Cedar Mills to William H. and Cora (McCarley) Cecil. She married Earl Hughes on February 7, 1934 in Cedar Mills. Mrs. Hughes worked at Malouf Sewing Factory in Whitesboro, was a member of Gordonville Baptist Church, serving as a Sunday School Teacher for 55 years.
Survivors include her husband, Earl Hughes of Gordonville, a son and daughter in law, Keith and Karol Hughes of Gordonville, two grandchildren, Brandon Hughes of Lubbock and Jennifer Hughes of Whitesboro, two great-grandchildren, Austin and Dayton Hughes.
She was preceded in death by a daughter, Yvonne Hughes.
Pallbearers are Brandon Hughes, Art LaBoon, Gene Herron, Roy Holmes, A.Z. Godwin and A. W. Pinkston.
