May 14, 1914 –  August 25, 2009  ARLINGTON- Funeral services for Lorena (Eldredge) Cobler, 95, formerly of Whitesboro, will be held at 3:00 P.M. on Saturday, August 29, 2009 at Meador Funeral Home Chapel in Whitesboro with Rev. Mike Flanagan and Rev. Harold Watson officiating. Interment will follow in Collinsville Cemetery. Visitation will be at 2:00 P.M. Saturday, prior to the funeral service.
Mrs. Cobler passed away on Tuesday evening, August 25, 2009 at her residence in Arlington.

Lorena was born on May 14, 1914 in Sadler, Texas to John Q. and Dora (Douglas) Eldredge. She married Joseph Lee Cobler on July 10, 1931 in Ardmore, Oklahoma. She is a member of the First Baptist Church of Whitesboro and she served as a young adult Sunday school teacher. Lorena was a great cook and dearly loved spending time with her family. Her grandchildren and great-grandchildren meant a lot to her. Lorena loved to read and study her Bible. She also enjoyed sewing, working in her flower beds, and had a passion for shopping.

Survivors include a son, Joe B. Cobler and wife, Elaine of Euless; 2 grandsons, Steven Scarbrough and wife, Roejean of Hawaii, and Byron Cobler Watson and wife, Macey of Van Alstyne; 3 great-grandchildren, Jason Scarbrough and wife, April of Hawaii, Sara Maulsby and husband, Jess of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, and Allison Watson of Van Alstyne; 2 sisters, Geraldine Phillips of Arlington and Maxine Cunningham of Arlington; 2 nieces, Sara Sledge and Dora Lee Plexco; cousin, James Ira Ginnings and family; special loved ones, Pam and Richard Kanaly, Jimmie Tom McDonnell, Celia Laurie, Sharon Watson, Ellen Bolden, Helen Henry, Hulena Clounch and Frances Hawkins.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Joseph Lee Cobler; parents, John and Dora Eldredge, 2 sisters, Jurita West and Odessa Plexco; and a brother, J.O. Eldredge.

Pallbearers are Joe B. Cobler, Steven Scarbrough, Byron Cobler Watson, Jess Maulsby, James Ira Ginnings and Fred Sledge.
