July 27, 1937 –  June 3, 2015  Lois Smith, 77, of Gainesville passed away on Wednesday, June 3, 2015 at Pecan Tree Health and Rehab Center. She was born July 27, 1937 in Red Springs, North Carolina to Earl and Eula (Smith) Lindsay. Lois married M.T. “Sonny” Smith June 12, 1958 in New Mexico. He preceded her in death in 1996. She was a homemaker and a longtime member of Southside Baptist Church.
Funeral Services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, June 6th at Meador Funeral Home Chapel in Gainesville with Dr. Eddie Chennault officiating. Interment will follow in New Resthaven Cemetery. Bart Smith, Kurt Smith, Brent Smith, Brad Johnson and Stan Brandon will serve as pallbearers. Visitation will be 1:00 to 2:00 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home.

Survivors include son and daughter-in-law, Charles and Dayna Smith of Gainesville; son, Kyle Smith of Aubrey; sisters, Helen Davis and Betty Lou Thaggard of North Carolina; brother Rae Lindsay of North Carolina and five grandchildren.
