March 21, 1932 –  May 7, 2007  COLLINSVILLE รข?? Funeral Services for Lloyd R. Smith, 75, will be at 10:00 A.M. Saturday, May 12, 2007 at Collinsville Church of Christ with Olden Cook and Eddie Parrish officiating. Services are under the direction of Meador Funeral Home of Whitesboro. Interment will follow in Collinsville Cemetery. Visitation will be from 6 to 8 P.M. Friday, May 11, 2007 at the funeral home.
Mr. Smith passed away Monday, May 7, 2007 at the Collinsville Care Center in Collinsville.

Lloyd was born on March 21, 1932 in Powderly, Texas to James Dudley and Metta (Bunch) Smith. He married Dorothy Long on December 24, 1954 in Paris, Texas. Lloyd served the United States Army in Korea and Hawaii. He earned his bachelors and masters degrees from East Texas State University in Commerce. He taught Vocational Agriculture at Valley View, Paris and Pilot Point schools. Lloyd served as an Elder at the Bonham Street Church of Christ in Paris, Texas and also at Collinsville Church of Christ. He was a devoted husband, father and grandfather.

Lloyd is survived by his wife, Dorothy Smith of Collinsville; two sons, Randy Smith and wife Annette of Quitman, Texas and Dale Smith and wife Sara of Dallas; a daughter, Diana Hood and husband Bruce of College Station; a brother, E. L. Smith and wife Karen of DeKalb, Illinois; two sisters, Edna Goss Hunt of Collinsville and Ruth Hutto of Garrison, Texas; 7 grandchildren, Russell Smith and wife Sarah, Rachel Silvester and husband James, Allie Smith, Ryan Smith, Stuart Hood, Spencer Hood and Hannah Hood; and several nieces and nephews.

Pallbearers will be former students representing the three schools where he taught, Johnny Pat Crawford, Kenneth Alexander, Warren Hudspeth, Dale Mayberry, Chad Miller and Joey Strittmatter.

Honorary Pallbearers will be the Elders of Collinsville Church of Christ.
