Leta Sue Harvell, 83, of Whitesboro, Texas was called home to Jesus on Friday, January 23, 2026.
Leta was born June 27, 1942 in Aspermont, Texas to Zachry Andrew and Allene (Anderson) Greer. On September 16, 1960 she married Paul Harvell in Midland, Texas.  Leta was a member of Legacy Pointe Baptist Church and loved her church family. She retired from the Texas Department of Human Resources after many years of service. She enjoyed painting, crocheting, tracing her family genealogy, and was an accomplished seamstress who liked sewing wedding dresses and making many of her family’s clothes. Her greatest joy was spending time with her friends and taking care of Brenda and the rest of her family
She is survived by her son, Jerry Paul Harvell and wife, Susan of Odessa; sister, Patsy Haner and husband, Dallas of Amarillo; brother, Zachry Greer of Abilene, brother, Johnny Greer and wife, Eva of Aspermont; brother, Richard Greer and wife Karen, of Abilene; grandchild Christopher Harvell and wife, Crystal of Gilbert, AZ; step-grandchildren, Shawn Percifield and wife, Summer of Odessa, Eric Percifield and wife, Allissa of Warrington, MO; Kristi Percifield of Kyle, TX; great-grandchildren, Elliot Harvell, Grey Harvell, Aubri Percifield, Khloe Percifield, Tyler Percifield, Lexi Percifield, Esben Ashley, Evynn Ashley, Eli Ashley, and Emmy Ashley.
Leta was preceded in death by her husband, Paul Harvell, daughter, Brenda Harvell. parents, Zachry and Allene Greer, sister, Ella Turnipseed, brother-in-law, Fred Turnipseed, and sister-in-law, Dorothy Greer.

Funeral Services honoring Leta will be held at 2:00 PM on Monday, February 2, 2026 at Legacy Pointe Church in Whitesboro, officiated by Rev. Joe Patterson. Interment will follow at Mt. Tabor Cemetery. A time of visitation for family and friends will be held one hour prior to the service at the Church on Monday.
Aunt Leta made a great influence on me and she taught me how to sew my first dress. She was always uplifting and positive with me and I will truly miss her and her sweet and kind hospitality!
