April 25, 1918 –  January 1, 2008  COLLINSVILLE รข?? Funeral Services for Leta Bell Vannoy, 89, will be held 2:00 P.M. Friday, Jan. 4, 2008 at the Collinsville Church of Christ with Olden Cook officiating. Interment will follow in Collinsville Cemetery. Services are under the direction of Meador Funeral Home in Whitesboro. Visitation will be from 6 to 7 P.M. Thursday at the funeral home.
Leta passed away Tuesday, January 1, 2008 at the Collinsville Care Center.

She was born on April 25, 1918 in Ethel to M.F. and Gladys (Burgin) Thompson. She married Ivan Vannoy on August 10, 1935. They were married 61 years before he passed away on June 29, 1997. She was a member of the Ethel Church of Christ until its closing and was a current member of the Collinsville Church of Christ. She was a homemaker who worked hard with her husband to establish their home in Ethel. She took great delight in being with her family and friends. She was a very talented cook, seamstress, and did wonderful work in refurbishing furniture. She loved to travel with her husband and friends and enjoyed playing the piano and organ.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Ivan, a son, Tommy Vannoy, a daughter, Barbara Vannoy Dutton, a grandson, Anthony Dutton, a sister, Lois Blumberg and a brother, Ted Thompson.

Survivors include a son, Dickey Vannoy of Collinsville (Ethel), granddaughters, Angela Walston and Tammy Daniel of Pottsboro, grandsons, Mike Vannoy of Sherman and Brian Vannoy of Bedford, brothers, Bill Thompson of Denton, Donald Thompson of Lubbock and Bobby Thompson of Dallas, great-grandsons, Matt and Brandon Waggoner of Pottsboro, Carl Don Daniel and Cody Daniel of Pottsboro and Britton Vannoy of Bedford and an uncle, Ollie B. Burgin of Denison.

Pallbearers will be Mike Vannoy, Brian Vannoy, Matt Waggoner, Carl Don Daniel, Cody Daniel and Brandon Waggoner.
