August 31, 1941 –  February 26, 2014  WHITESBORO – Graveside services for Larry Squires, 72, will be held on Saturday, March 1, 2014, at 2:00 p.m. in Oakwood Cemetery of Whitesboro, Texas with Rev. Rick Carney officiating. Service arrangements are under the direction of Meador Funeral Home in Whitesboro. There will not be a visitation service.He passed away on February 26, 2014 in Denison, Texas.
Larry was born on August 31, 1941 in Clinton, Oklahoma to Frank and Bessie (Hearne) Squires. He grew up and graduated from Dalhart High School in 1959. He married Dana Matthews on November 9, 1958 in Clayton, New Mexico. He graduated from Southwestern State University in Weatherford, Oklahoma in 1963 with a degree in pharmacy. Larry was always involved with the community of Whitesboro. He was ever present at the local events and was instrumental in the growth of the city. He owned and operated “Larry’s Pharmacy” in Whitesboro for 30 years. He loved his Oklahoma Sooners. He loved his family, friends, and the Whitesboro Community.
He is survived by his daughter, Lorrie Stuckey, of Whitesboro; granddaughter, Kara Frazier and fiancé, Jeremy Garcia, of Sadler; grandson, Tanner Bridgeman; great-grandson, Ryder Jeffrey Alan Garcia; sister, Anita Phillips; nephew, Joel Phillips; niece, Elizabeth Myrick; and numerous family members and friends.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Dana Squires; parents, Frank and Bessie Squires; son, Jeff Squires, and brother Frank Hal Squires.
In lieu of flowers memorial contributes can be made to Cal Farley’s Boys Ranch in Amarillo, Texas; St. Jude’s Hospital; or the Whitesboro Library.
Pallbearers will be Gene Bryan, Gene Young, Lewis Cavin, Dr. Alan Smith, Cary Bryan, and Mike Allred.
