April 2, 1934 –  February 24, 2010  WHITESBORO â?? Funeral Services for Kenneth Merl McGarity, 75, will be held at 2 p.m. on Saturday, Feb. 27, 2010 at Meador Funeral Home Chapel in Whitesboro with Rev. Mike Davis officiating. Interment will follow at Oakwood Cemetery in Whitesboro. Visitation will be held on Friday from 6 p.m. until 8 p.m. at the funeral home.
Kenneth passed away on Wednesday, February 24, 2010 at his daughterâ??s home near Callisburg.

He was born on April 2, 1934 in San Benito, Texas to William Loy and Mineola (Richardson) McGarity. He married Evea Rae Harmon on May 17, 2000 in Cooke County. He was a City of Whitesboro employee since 1973. Kenneth enjoyed gardening, yard work, coffee and his grandkids. He was of the Baptist Faith.

Survivors include his wife, Evea McGarity of Whitesboro; 2 daughters, Dalelenia Drake and husband, Randall of Gainesville, and Raeginia Shepherd and husband, Chad of Bedford; 8 grandchildren, Mackenzie Cramer, Zoey Washburn, Alexis Washburn, Taylor Lane, Ryan Drake and Reanna Drake, all of Gainesville, and Daniel Noblitt and Patrick Noblitt of Bedford.

He was preceded in death by his parents and 2 brothers, J.B. and Charles McGarity.

Pallbearers are Douglass Hott, Ronnie Litchfield, Kenneth Schmitz, Mike Marter, Lester Roberts and Elbert Hunt.

Honorary pallbearers are Brian West, Roy Brogdon, Billy Eggleston, Don Zielke, John White and Kyle Maynard.
