October 29, 1950 –  March 29, 2008  COLLINSVILLE â?? Funeral Services for Kathy Jane (Willis) Thomas, 57, will be held at 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, April 1, 2008 at First Baptist Church in Collinsville, Texas with Rev. Jerry Davis officiating. A Graveside Service will be held at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, April 2, 2008 at Rose Hill Cemetery in Chickasha, Oklahoma with Bro. Johnny Tims officiating. All services are under the direction of Meador Funeral Home in Whitesboro. Visitation will be from 6 p.m. until 8 p.m. Monday, March 31, 2008 at the funeral home.
Mrs. Thomas passed away Saturday, March 29, 2008 at Baylor Regional Medical Center in Grapevine of heart disease.

She was born Oct. 29, 1950 in Hobart, Oklahoma to Bennie Lee and Verla (Woodward) Willis. Kathy was very resilient. She once was buried alive as a young girl by a bulldozer with only her hand visible. Her brothers dog, Mickey, found her and kept barking until she was rescued. She graduated from Mountain Park High School in 1968. She became known as â??Kitty Kat Katyâ? while in college. Kathy wrote an essay on how she had used up eight of her lives as she lived out her life as an insulin dependent diabetic. She became a Home Economics teacher, teaching in Fort Worth and Chickasha, being much loved by her students. Kathy was very proud of her sons. She loved to hear them sing and play their instruments. Kathy loved taking photos, sewing and crafting. She had retired to Collinsville and had become a home health aide.

Survivors include two sons, Dr. Darren Thomas and wife, Dr. Yvan Thomas of Tulsa, Oklahoma and Kory Thomas and wife, Rebecca of Chickasha, Oklahoma, three brothers, Jimmie Keith Willis and wife Barbara of Hobart, Oklahoma, Don Willis and wife Phyllis of Lake Kiowa, Texas and Jackie Dee Willis of Snyder, Oklahoma, a sister, Bennie Lee McDaniel of Hurst, Texas, former husband, Phillip David Thomas of Chickasha, Oklahoma and her former in-laws, Bill and LaVelle Thomas of Chickasha, Oklahoma and numerous nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Bennie Lee and Verla Willis.
