September 24, 1934 –  March 5, 2018  Gordonville- Graveside services for John William Jarvis, 83, will be held at 2:00 PM on Thursday, March 8, 2018 at Antlers Cemetery, Antlers, Oklahoma officiated by Rev. Doyle Henderson. A visitation will be held on Wednesday, March 7, 2018 from 6:00 to 8:00 PM at Meador Funeral Home Whitesboro.He passed away Monday, March 5, 2018 at his home in Gordonville.
John was born in Ranger, TX on September 24, 1934 to John William and Rita Dale (Cochran) Jarvis. He married Mary (Gideon) Jarvis on November 18, 1961 in Arlington, TX. He was a hard-working man who worked as a machinist for over 26 years. He loved movies and was an avid watcher of all the old westerns, Gunsmoke, Gabby Hays and John Wayne movies. He enjoyed reading Louis L’Amour novels and deer hunting with his brothers. John loved his family dearly, especially his mother.
He is survived by his wife, Mary Sue Jarvis of Gordonville, son, Jeff Jarvis and wife, Laurie of Sherman, son, Steve Jarvis and wife, Christine of Schertz, four grandchildren, Tatjana Jarvis, Stevie Jarvis, Madison Jarvis, Benjamin Jarvis, brother, Joe Jarvis of Fort Worth, sister, Patsy Freeman and husband, Jessie of Fort Worth, numerous nieces and nephews as well as his long time family friend Robert Chapman and son, Chase.
John was preceded in death by his parents, John and Rita Jarvis, son, Scott Jarvis, three brothers, Butch, Richard and Franklin Jarvis, and granddaughter Michelle Jarvis.
