Jim meant so much to us at Mt. Gilead. He will be missed by so many. He was always there to serve others, his smile was contagious and he was a light for sharing the Gospel of Jesus Christ.
Praying for your strength and comfort, Deanna. Love you.
Sweet memories of Jim.
Strength, comfort and prayers Deanna.
Sorry I can’t be there to celebrate Jim’s life. You will be in my thoughts and prayers!
Thinking of Jim and all our fun RV adventures together and climbing courthouse mountain together!
Yes, Jim will certainly be missed!!
Jim and I along with Deanna have known each other since 1964. We had both joined the Air Force and our first duty assignment was to show up at the University of Utah, Salt Lake City for a year of Meteorology school. To this day neither one of us could remember how we met but I suspect it was when we were standing in the registration line to sign up for classes. We instantly became friends with both Jim and Deanna. Jim was my savior in helping me get through our calculus classes!!
We both went our separate ways in the Air Force, but we met frequently in the summers to go tent camping. On several occasions we would sit around the campfire with our very young kids and roast s’mores. Jim and Deanne would meet us in some of the most out of the way places, always up in the mountains. The day temperatures were always warm, but the nights sometimes got very cold. So cold in fact that when we changed the kids’ diapers and put them outside, they were frozen the next morning! All great fun and we had many great times camping with the Burleson’s!
We continued over the years to remain the best of friends. We wish all our best to Deanna and will continue to check up on her and will remain friends with her forever.
Jim was my boss for 18 years and a good friend for 41. He was the most ethical patient person I have ever known.
My thoughts and prayers are with Deanna, her loss will be much greater than most of us will ever understand.
God gets to have a terrific guy on board. We will all miss him.
Deanna,
Our hearts were broken by the news of Jimmie’s passing. He was such a kind Christian man. Our prayers are with you as you walk through this dark valley. May you find comfort in the precious memories that you made in your 50+ years together.
In Christian Love,
We have such sweet memories of Jim from the MGBC days. Such a good man. We’re very sorry that we won’t be with you Friday. Much love from the Lambert family.
Sorry I cannot be there, but I will be praying for you. Jim was a great example of a life lived for the Lord. My love and prayers are with you.
To uncle Jim,
I took a walk this morning and felt sorrowful for the leaves on the trees. The nights are cooler and the sun is later to rise in the mornings and sooner to set in the evening and the leaves are unveiling their rusty reds. I thought to myself such a shame as change happens slowly but then all of a sudden it seems. Seems unfair doesn’t it.
Today a wonderful man was called home. My uncle was an extraordinarily intelligent and well traveled man but always humble. A veteran for a country he loved. A man that fiercely loved his wife until death do them part. I always coveted their love for each other.
We will miss you uncle Jim but we know you are in a far better place. I am blessed to have known you in this life. I hope the road to heaven is lined with mountains on both sides.
Met Jim and Deanna by a trout stream in Colorado and was invited to Mount Gilead, best trip we ever had. Jim was an inspiration and showed what a true servant of the lord was. He will be missed. Many fond memories!
We are we could not be there but want you to know June and I will be praying for you
