Jerry Lynn Rich, 82, of Gordonville, Texas was called home to heaven on Sunday, January 19, 2025, surrounded by his loving family.
Jerry was born on February 18, 1942 in Sherman, Texas to JB and Doris (Huffhines) Rich. He was a graduate of Whitesboro High School. Jerry was a farmer and rancher in the Gordonville area, he also worked for General Motors and drove trucks for Don McAden and for Grayson County Road Crew. He loved being outdoors and loved working the land at his ranch in Gordonville. Occasionally he would take time to go on vacation, having traveled to see Mt. Rushmore. Jerry was a lifetime member of the Gordonville Church of Christ and was not afraid to lead the singing.
He is survived by his son, James Glenn Rich and wife, Karen of Sadler; son, Jerry Claude Rich and wife, Rhonda of Whitesboro; daughter, Sherry Lynn Prichard and husband, Rick of Mountain View, Ark.; daughter, Dianna Ann Krodell of Pottsboro; grandchildren, James Brett Rich and wife, Ellen, Amanda Cross and husband, Devin, Micaylah Bentley and husband, Christian, Lee Rich and wife, Mekyla, Brian Rich and wife, Tracey, Dillon Rich, Jeremy Ford and wife, Lindsey, Eric Hull, Kasey Hull, Leah White and husband, Cole, Brandon Smith, and special granddaughter, Angela Perry, great-grandchildren, Hunter, Jaxon, Andrew, Wade, Hayes, Maddy, Abbi, Lilly, Sam, Ava, Lilah, Georgie, Britton, Brayden, Luke, Payton, and Parker, brother, Billy Don Rich and wife Betty of Abilene; sister, Marcena Flowers and husband, Travis from Agency, MO.; as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
Jerry was preceded in death by his parents, JB and Doris Rich and wife, Judy Rich.
A Funeral Service honoring Jerry will be held at 2:00 PM on Thursday, January 23, 2025 at Meador Funeral Home of Whitesboro, officiated by Billy Jack Flowers. Interment will follow at Allison Cemetery in Gordonville. A time of visitation for family and friends will be held at Meador Funeral Home on Wednesday, January 22, 2025 from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM.

That picture is exactly how I remember him…with a big smile on his face. And to put up with all the shenanigans the Funny Farm bunch got into, back in the day…he has to have received his sainthood / angel wings upon arriving at those pearly gates. Uncle Jerry Will always be a part of my youth. Taught me how to drive on the farm. Just keeping a tractor straight so we could drop off irrigation pipe. Always made me appreciate farmers and their bond with the land. Always happy happy memories. Love to James Glenn, Claude, Sherry and Dianna.
