October 23, 1934 –  January 16, 2017  Jerry “J.R.” Elton Rawle, 82, of Celeste, passed away peacefully of natural causes on Monday,January 16, 2017 at Hunt Regional Medical Center in Greenville, TX. A celebration of life
service will be held Thursday, January 19, 2017 at 2:00 p.m. at Legacy Pointe Central Baptist Church in Whitesboro, Texas with Rev. Joe Patterson officiating. Interment will follow at Oakwood Cemetery. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service at 1:00 p.m. at the church. Arrangements are by Meador Funeral Home of Whitesboro, Texas.

Mr. Rawle was born October 23, 1934 in Decatur, TX where he was raised and attended
school. He was the first child of W.D. Rawle and Oma Jewel Nikirk Rawle. On January 28,
1955, he married his sweetheart, Joy Elaine Rutherford of Bridgeport, TX. Jerry was a long time
employee of Hobbs Trailer in Dallas, TX and later retired from National Trailer Sales. Jerry and
Joy lived many years in Grapevine, TX where they were faithful members of Bethel Baptist
Church for over 30 years before retiring to live at Lake Texoma.

He is survived by his loving wife, Joy Elaine Rutherford Rawle of Celeste; his daughters, Faith
Patrick and husband, Douglas, of Haltom City, and Angela Wilson and husband, James, of
Celeste; his sister, Melba Jean Rawle Haney and husband, Edwin of Decatur; his sister-in-law,
Billie Rawle of Decatur; grandchildren, Glenna Patrick, Jerri Watts and husband, Michael,
Stephen Wilson and wife, Jeri, David Wilson and wife, Bethany, and Paul Patrick; great-grandchildren, Mimi Watts, Walker Wilson and Timothy Wilson and several nephews and
nieces.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Legacy Point Central Baptist Church, P. O. Box 247, Whitesboro, Texas 76273.
