August 6, 1949 –  August 5, 2009  POTTSBORO- Funeral Services for Jerry Cranford, 59, will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, August 8, 2009 at First Baptist Church of Whitesboro with Reverend Judith Reedy officiating. Services are under the direction of Meador Funeral Home in Whitesboro. Visitation will be from 7 p.m. to 8 p.m. on Friday, August 7, 2009 at the funeral home.
Jerry passed away on Wednesday, August 5, 2009 at Texoma Healthcare Center in Sherman, Texas.

He was born August 6, 1949 in Gainesville, Texas to Robert â??Bobâ? Cranford and Jane â??Savageâ? Cranford. Jerry graduated from S & S High School in 1967, graduated with an associateâ??s degree from Grayson County College, was a graduate of the Grayson Police Academy, and graduated from Southeastern Oklahoma State University in Durant with a degree in Criminal Justice. He married Carolyn Cooper on July 17, 1970 in Denison, Texas. Jerry was a member of the First Baptist Church in Whitesboro. He was a talented leather crafter. Jerry held a master police officer certification in the state of Texas. He enjoyed the outdoors, and especially loved the lake. Jerry served from 1969 to 1973 with the United States Navy, 1987 to 1999 with the United States Army Reserve FEMA Unit in Denton, and 1999 to 2003 with the United States Air Force Reserve. He was retired from the Air Force Reserve at Tinker Air Force Base in Oklahoma. After 27 years, Jerry retired from Texas Instruments Facility Department as a draftsman. He was most recently employed at the Collin County Community College Police Department.

Survivors include his wife, Carolyn Cranford of Pottsboro; two daughters, Amy Cranford-Boehmisch and, husband, John of Pampa, TX, Brittany Ann Cranford of Pottsboro; mother, Jane Cranford of Sadler; four grandsons, Luke Boehmisch of Louisville, KY, Logan Boehmisch of Pampa, TX, Lance Boehmisch of Pampa, TX, and Landon Boehmisch of Pampa, TX; a brother, Harold and, wife, Darla of Luella, TX; mother-in-law, Inez William of Whitesboro; brother-in-law, Craig and, wife, Amy Williams; extended family, aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, and nephews.

He was preceded in death by father, Bob Cranford and a sister, Alice Eades.

Pallbearers are John Synatschk, Wayne McClain, Doug Gardner, Ronny Fielder, Sis Fritts, and Steve Robinson. Honorary pallbearers are police officers from various departments in Texas.
