Jennie passed away on March 4, 2013 in Muenster, Texas.

Jennie was born on March 14, 1923 to John Wesley and Daisy Bell (McFarland) Garrett in Slidell, Texas. She married Samuel Pollard on December 16, 1939 in Krum, Texas. Known by many as ?Nanny,? she lived for her family and loved them all deeply. She was always quick to welcome friends with kind words and made it her goal to feed you until you burst. She loved to sit out on the porch with her dog, Tooter, and enjoyed gardening. Jennie attended church at Westminster Presbyterian Church in Gainesville and shared the Lord?s Word with those she encountered.

She is survived by her daughter, Ruth Rogers and husband, Don, of Gainesville, TX; grandsons: Tim P. King and wife, Dalina, of Gainesville, TX and Ronnie Harp, Jr. and wife, Carol, of Decatur, TX; great-grandchildren: Ashley King-Drake and husband, Jeffrey, of Durant, OK, Bryson Nance of Gainesville, TX, Wacey Harp and wife, Abi, of Woodbine, TX, Sam King of Gainesville, TX, and Taylor Harp of Decatur, TX; great-great-grandchildren: Myndi Harp, Jett Pollard Drake, and Tatum Harp; step-great-grandchildren: Kirstie Hoover and Kayla Spindle; step-great-great-grandchildren: Braylee Hoover and McKinnley Spindle; a brother, Glenn Garrett and wife, Betty, of Gainesville, TX; a number of nieces, nephews, and friends; and that rowdy group of dancing cowboys that lovingly knew her as ?Nanny,? who she loved like her own.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Samuel Pollard; her parents, John and Daisy Garrett; daughter, Virginia Ann Pollard; son, Sammy Dean Pollard; and seven siblings.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Westminster Presbyterian Church in Gainesville, TX or the First Baptist Church?s ?Hope on Broadway? in Gainesville, TX.
