November 15, 1931 –  May 11, 2013  WHITESBORO – Funeral services for Jean A. Gillespie, 81, will be held Sunday, May 12, 2013, at 3:00 p.m. at the Meador Funeral Home Chapel in Whitesboro, Texas with Rev. Sam Redfern officiating. Interment will follow the service at Oakwood Cemetery in Whitesboro, Texas. All service arrangements are under the direction of Meador Funeral Home in Whitesboro, Texas. Visitation services will be prior to the funeral from 2:00-3:00 p.m. at the funeral home on Sunday, May 12.Jean was born on November 15, 1931 to Russell and Edna (Ainsworth) Anderson in Collinsville, Texas. She married Billy Frank Gillespie, Jr. on August 3, 1951. They were married for 56 years until his passing. She was known as the ?farmer?s daughter?. She was funny and feisty, and a great cook who loved food, especially sweets. She enjoyed fishing, shopping and gardening. She also loved keeping her grandchildren. She and her daughter, Pam, were best friends.
She is survived by her daughter, Pam Gillespie, of Whitesboro, TX; grandchildren: Clay Young and wife, Stephanie, of The Colony, TX; Clint Young and wife, Kate, of Ft. Worth, TX; great-grandchildren: Jackson Young and Andy Young; sisters: Betty Marshall of Gordonville, TX; Nell Hall of Overland Park, KS; as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Russell and Edna Anderson; husband, Billy Gillespie, Jr.; and daughter, Patricia Gillespie.
Pallbearers will be Clint Young, Rick Young, Chris Young, Keith Miller, Jeremy Sias, and John Morgan.
