A very sad day it is today. She was a very dear friend to me since 1975. We actually met playing tennis at Merrywood and then Willow Bend. At the end we played golf together when tennis was to hard on us.
Heaven is a better place today for sure!
What a joy and pleasure it is that we were able to cross paths with The McCorkle’s! They were an incredible duo that loved their family, friends, community and country fiercely in a heartfelt and powerful way. They embraced life and enjoyed it no matter what came their way…. I will miss them.
Godspeed to David and Janet as they enjoy the next chapter in their journey. Rest In Peace, The Doughty’s.
Janet and David friends for years in Plano. Two very giving and wonderful people. Loved them so much and will miss them
Prayers for God’s strength, comfort and peace to be with your family.
Janet we will miss you. I will always remember you. One thing sticks out
when we both run to the mailbox to get bills for purchases that our husbands
did’nt know about.
Henry says you were straight as an error. Also he said offer Dave a cigar
and a pipe.
May God bless you and take you in his arms.
Henry and Carol Venturoni
I will miss our friends. Memories of our kids growing up, going to college together. The McCorkles introduced us to Gunnison Colorado where we shared some happy times! Good people! As the saying goes ……”the salt of the earth”. God bless my friends!

So sorry to hear of this. Enjoyed knowing and playing tennis with Janet and Dave for many years. Great memories of Plano, Willow Bend and Lakeway over the years. Janet had so many great stories always told with that twinkle in her eye.
David and Janet have been very dear friends to our family for many years. Wonderful people who would be there for you if they were needed. They will be missed but our loss is Heavens gain.
I was reading the Whitesboro newspaper, and saw Dave’s obituary. I was going to leave a comment, and saw that Janet had passed as well. To say I am shocked and saddened, is an understatement. I was the mobile pet groomer of their 2 beloved smaller dogs for quite a while. I loved Janet and our talks after I was done grooming their 2 dogs. Then, one of the dogs passed away, and there was just the one small one left-plus the big one. I last tried to phone her some weeks ago, but she was busy on another line, so was unable to talk to her that day. To her beloved family and friends, just know that I thought the world of Janet, loved the dogs, and will miss her.
