March 20, 1944 –  February 10, 2005  Service for James Thomas (Jimmy) Welch age 60 of Whitesboro will be 2:00 P.M. Saturday, February 12, 2005 at the First Baptist Church of Whitesboro with the Rev. Harold Watson officiating, assisted by Hank Lovejoy and Gary Allen. Interment will follow at the Oakwood Cemetery in Whitesboro. Directed by Meador Funeral Home. Visitation will be from 7-8 P.M. Friday at the funeral home.
Jimmy died Thursday, February 10, 2005 at Wilson N. Jones Medical Center in Sherman.

He was born March 20, 1944 to Charley Lee and Lenora (Davis) Welch in Muenster, TX.

Jimmy married Linda Wright on October 11, 1968 in Whitesboro, TX.

Jimmy was a life long resident of the Whitesboro area. He was a member of the First Baptist Church Whitesboro, a member of the Whitesboro Masonic Lodge #263, CMA (Christian Motorcyclist Association). Cross Timber Riders Chapter 762 in Gainesville, Sandy Creek Muzzle Loaders Association, National Muzzle Loaders Rifle Association, Aurora Black Powder Club and The Geezers Club. Jimmy worked at Weber Aircraft for 12 years.

Survivors include his wife: Linda Welch of Whitesboro, Daughter: Tammy Voyles and husband Ray of Whitesboro, Son: Timothy Welch and wife Melissa of Whitesboro, Adopted Daughter: Marleen Hartley and husband William of New Jersey, Daughter-In- Law: Kim Welch of Whitesboro. Mother: Lenora Welch of Whitesboro. Brothers: William Welch and wife Sharron of Richardson and Johnny Welch and wife Connie of Keller. Three Grandchildren: Tamera Voyles of Washington State, J.D. Voyles of Whitesboro, Madison Welch of Whitesboro, 2 adopted grandchildren: Jacqueline and William Hartley of New Jersey.

Preceded in Death by a son Ronald Welch and Father; Charley Welch.
