James Rhea Hackler, 90 of Gainesville, Texas passed away on February 6, 2023. He was born on February 28, 1932 in Gainesville, Texas to William Claude Hackler and Zula (Auldridge) Hackler. James married Lucine Boaz on March 1, 1952. He was a long time member of the Temple Baptist Church in Gainesville, Texas. James was a Board Member of the Stanford House in Gainesville, Texas. He loved to fish, golf and travel.
James is survived by daughter, Karen Ortowski of Whitesboro, Texas; ; daughter, Cindy Willis & husband, Terry of Gainesville, Texas; son, Jimmy Hackler and wife, Janis of Callisburg, Texas; 8 grandchildren, 12 great-great grandchildren, 7 great-grandchildren, numerous family members, nephews, nieces and cousins.
James is preceded in death by wife, Lucine Hackler; parents, Claude & Zula Hackler, grandson, Paul Ritchie, brothers, Bill, Richard, Charles, sister, Betty Smith.
Funeral Service will be at 2:00 pm on Friday, February 10, 2023 at Meador Funeral Home, 1204 E. California Street, Gainesville, Texas with interment to follow with Military Honors at Fairview Cemetery, Gainesville, Texas. Visitation will be held at 1:00 pm on Friday, February 10, 2023.

I’m so so sorry to hear of James’ passing, but I know that he is in heaven now with the love of his life, Lucine. He served his country and he served his family. Godspeed, Sir. We will see you on the flip side.
I grew up in the same neighborhood as James and his siblings and graduated from high school with his brother, Richard. They were such a nice family. I have not seen James in a while but I always enjoyed that great smile of his. My condolences to the family.

James has blessed the Boaz family for many years through his marriage to Lucine. He is gone, but will never be forgotten.
He was most definitely one of the best human I have known. He loved his Lucine and he loved his family. He and Lucine were a great example of how parents should be and their children were so blessed. He had a rich full life and I can’t be sad for where he is now! REST IN PEACE UNCLE James!! Love you so much!
