December 20, 1941 –  October 8, 2006  Sadler â?? Funeral Services for James D. â??Sonnyâ? Nichols, 64, will be 2:00 P.M. Friday, Oct. 13, 2006 at Meador Funeral Home Chapel in Whitesboro with Rick Carney officiating. Interment will follow in Sadler Cemetery. Visitation will be from 7 to 8 P.M. Thursday at the funeral home.
Sonny passed away Sunday, Oct. 8, 2006 at his home in Sadler.

He was born December 20, 1941 in Denison to James Andrew and Juanita (Moore) Nichols. He married Betty Huckabee on April 10, 1959 in Denison. He was a truck driver for AGP in Sherman.

Sonny is survived by his mother, Juanita Wall of Sadler; a son, James Michael Nichols and wife Margaret of Sadler; two daughters, Sharon Boren and husband Norman of Sadler and Tammie Mitchell and husband Terry of Sherman; a sister, Mary Whitworth of Sapulpa, OK; eleven grandchildren, Bethany Sloan of Royce City, Angela Malouf of Allen, Cody Nichols of Durant, OK, Christopher Nichols of Sadler, Erica Rose of Durant, OK, Jennifer Osborne of Nocona, Justin Boren of Whitesboro, David Boren of Sadler, Aimee Maynard of Antlers, OK, Ashley Sanders of McKinney and Lance Cpl. Adam Mitchell of Okinawa, Japan; and fourteen great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his father, James Andrew Nichols and his wife, Betty Nichols.

Pallbearers are Justin Boren, David Boren, Adam Mitchell, Cody Nichols, Chris Nichols, T.M. Osborne, Clint Maynard, Jeremy Sanders and T.J. Sloan.
