May 8, 1930 –  January 19, 2013  GAINESVILLE ? Jack Harvey Logan, 82, passed away at his residence in Gainesville, Texas, on January 19, 2013. A small service for family and friends will be at Schroeder Ranch, Gainesville, Texas on Saturday, January 26, 2013, at 11:00 a.m. Cremation arrangements are under the direction of Meador Funeral Home in Whitesboro, Texas.Jack was born on May 8, 1930 in Port Huron, Michigan, to Orville and Hilda Mae (Jamison) Logan. He married Joyce Gilmore on January 21, 1948 in Port Huron, Michigan. He was a veteran of the Korean War having served in the U. S. Army Corp of Engineers. He served with SCARWAF (Special Corp Army with Air Force 1951/1952). Their job was to construct forward airfield for jetfighter operations. Jack was the head field engineer and participated in the reconstruction of Kimpo Airbase near Seoul, the capital city of Korea, after our forces recaptured that airbase from the Chinese Communist Army. He was a member of the American Quarter Horse Association and the Operating Engineers Union. He was also an equine facility designer and builder. He was also very well known for his work in designing and constructing ranches. One of his best known design/construction projects was The Resort at Paws Up in Greenough, Montana.
He is survived by his son, Jack Douglas ?Doug? Logan and wife, Mary Ellen, of Michigan; his daughter, Joan Schroeder of Gainesville, TX; grandchildren: Amelia Srugis and husband, David; Ashley Logan-Sitko and husband, Jeff; and Ryan Schroeder; and a brother, Robert Logan.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Joyce Logan; his parents, Orville and Hilda Logan; and a brother, Jim Logan.
