February 5, 1930 –  October 8, 2011  WHITESBORO â?? Funeral services for J. L. Turner, 81, will be held Wednesday, October 12, 2011 at 2:00 p.m. at the Meador Funeral Home Chapel in Whitesboro, Texas with Rev. Mike Flanagan officiating. Interment will follow the service at Oakwood Cemetery. Family visitation will be Tuesday, October 11, from 6 â?? 7 p.m.J. L. went home to be with his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, on Saturday, October 8, 2011.
He was born on February 5, 1930 to Francis Marion and Abbie Lee (Lucius) Turner in Wheeler, Texas. He married Mary Jo Bean on July 9, 1951 in Sherman, Texas. He was retired from General Motors after over 31 years of service. He was a member of First Baptist Church of Whitesboro. He loved wood work and restoring cars. His hobby was fishing. He also loved his grandkids.
He is survived by his children: Sharon Dubose and husband, Glenn, of Whitesboro, TX; and Jerry Turner of Grand Prairie, Texas; grandchildren: Trent Kutch and wife, Britany, of Red Oak, TX; Trey Kutch of Whitesboro, TX; Josh Turner of Austin, TX; great-grandchildren: Mason Kutch and Madison Kutch; sisters: Janie Tamplin, Goldie Lee, and Betty Jean Sines; sister-in-law: Francis Hargesheiner; brother-in-law, Jim Bean and wife, Mary; and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Mary Jo Turner; his parents, Francis and Abby Turner; and his siblings.

Pallbearers will be Trent Kutch, Trey Kutch, Josh Turner, Cliff Gregg, Rickie Fielder, and Ben Hatcher.
