April 23, 1932 –  March 20, 2012  WHITESBORO â?? Funeral services for Irvin Edward Farmer, 79, will be held Thursday, March 22, 2012 at 2:00 p.m. at Meador Funeral Home Chapel in Whitesboro, Texas with Wendyl Glenn officiating. Interment will follow the service at Mt. Tabor Cemetery in Sandusky, Texas. There is no planned visitation. Irvin passed away on March 20, 2012 at his home in Whitesboro, Texas.
He was born on April 23, 1932 to Oliver B. and Navada Maye (Blevins) Farmer in Sadler, Texas. He married Marian â??Louiseâ? Henderson on April 24, 1953 in Whitesboro, Texas. He served his country during the Korean War as an engineer on the USS Missouri battleship. He was on the ship during the surrender of Korea. He drove a gas truck for Texaco for 27 years, driving over two million miles without any accidents and earned a safe driving award. He retired in 1993. He was married to Louise for 59 years.
He is survived by his wife, Louise Farmer of Whitesboro, TX; children: Michael Farmer and wife, Elisa; Ricky Farmer and wife, Nan; Geraldine Baillio and husband, Lynn, all of Whitesboro, TX; five grandchildren: Michael Lynn Farmer, Bryan Farmer, Brandon Farmer, Adrienne Baillio, and Hayden Bailleo; and six great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Oliver and Maye Farmer; and brother, J. W. Farmer.
His grandchildren will serve as honorary pallbearers.
