February 25, 1932 –  August 10, 2017  Imogene Elizabeth Hoenig died peacefully with her children by her side on August 10, 2017. She was 85 years old. “Jeanne” Neu was born on February 25, 1932 in Lindsay, Texas to Agnes and Theodore Neu. She was a lifelong member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Gainesville, Texas. Professionally she was a Registered Nurse working at both St. Paul and Parkland hospitals in Dallas in the 50’s and 60’s.
Jeanne married Rupert Anthony Hoenig on May 25, 1954, celebrating 58 years of marriage just prior to Rupert’s passing in 2012. Jeanne and Rupert had 9 children, Robert Dale, Gary Edward, Daniel Joseph, Stephen Mark, Donald Scott, Walter Glen, Randall Theodore, Carol Jean, and Brian Patrick. They also had 13 grandchildren, one great grandchild, and another great grandchild on the way.

Jeanne spent her life in service of others, as a big sister, nurse, wife, mother, aunt, grandmother, great grandmother, as a friend, even as a patient. She always made sure you were comfortable, you were happy, you were loved.

Funeral arrangements are being made by Meador Funeral Homes in Gainesville, Texas with a viewing and rosary on August 11, 2017 from 6 to 8 pm at the funeral home. Funeral mass will be at St. Mary’s church in Gainesville on August 12, 2017 at 10:30 am, followed by a short graveside service at New Resthaven cemetery in Gainesville then a luncheon back at St. Mary’s parish hall.
