October 15, 1930 –  September 24, 2014  Celebration of Life Services for Harold Kirkpatrick, (Coach “K”) 83, of Whitesboro will be held Saturday, September 27, 2014 at 2:00 p.m. at Meador Funeral Home Chapel with Mike Hermanson officiating. Visitation will be held Friday, September 26, 2014 from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home. Interment will be at Gordonville Cemetery, Gordonville, Texas. He passed away Wednesday, September 24, 2014 at Just Like Home in Whitesboro. He was born to Dewey and Ruby (Spring) Kirkpatrick on October 15, 1930 in Paris, Texas. He married Karen (Rogers) Kirkpatrick February 12, 1977 in Portales, New Mexico. Coach “K” was a teacher/coach for 43 years; coached 5 Football State Championships in New Mexico and coached 23 years in Whitesboro, TX; was a member of Sherwood Shores Baptist Church and was a wonderful husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, and friend/mentor to hundreds of friends and students. He was a legend in his own time, across Oklahoma, New Mexico, and Texas – a stranger he never met!
He is survived by his wife, Karen of Gordonville; sons, Harold Ray Kirkpatrick, II and wife, Janis of Prosper, Texas; Clendon Kirkpatrick and wife, Carla of Artesia, New Mexico; Haskell Luther Kirkpatrick and wife, Holly of Whitesboro, Texas; Dewey Lee Kirkpatrick and wife, Amber of Denison, Texas; daughter, Lisa Graves and husband, Teo of Gordonville, Texas; grandchildren, Lance Thomas, Aaron Thomas, Lindsay Parker, Stephanie Kirkpatrick, Eric Kirkpatrick, Teyhia Graves, Zachariah Graves, Trinity Graves, Laci Sandhoff and husband, Cody, Dylan Morgan and Grayson Kirkpatrick; and great-grandchild, Kalli Rose Kirkpatrick.
Pallbearers will be his grandchildren.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to “Coach K Hook’em Up” Scholarship at American Bank in Whitesboro or Sherman, Texas.
He was preceded in death by his father Dewey and his mother and stepfather, Ruby and Jack Adams; daughter, Laurie Kirkpatrick and grandmother, Cordelia Spring. http://videos.lifetributes.com/527064
