December 11, 1929 –  May 7, 2015  WHITESBORO – Funeral services for Gurtie Marie Wright, 85, will be held on Saturday, May 9, 2015, at 2:00 p.m., in the Meador Funeral Home Chapel in Whitesboro, Texas with Deacon Albert Miller officiating. Interment will follow the services at St. Mary’s Cemetery in Sherman, Texas. All service arrangements are under the direction of Meador Funeral Home in Whitesboro. Visitation services will be held prior to the funeral service on Saturday, May 9, from 1-2 p.m. at the funeral home.
She died on Thursday, May 7, 2015, at Texoma Medical Center in Denison, Texas.

Gurtie was born on December 11, 1929 in Madill, Oklahoma to Emerson Irvin Hartin and his wife, Addie Leona (Duncan) Hartin. She married James Paul Wright on February 12, 1949 in Durant, Oklahoma. She was a member of St. Mary’s Catholic Parish in Sherman, Texas.

She is survived by her daughter, Paula Deason; and her son, James M. Wright; six grandchildren; several great-grandchildren; and a sister, Emma Voyles.

She was preceded in death by her husband; and her parents.
