Glenda “Kookie” Trammell passed away peacefully in her home in Gainesville, TX on Thursday July 11th, 2024 at 73 years of age. She was born on July 30th, 1950 to Monroe and Cordie Belle Bennett in Gainesville TX. She was proud of her childhood, being raised alongside many siblings and cousins often taking on leadership responsibilities and duties amongst them.
Kookie met and fell head over heels in love with Richard Trammell, and the feeling was more than mutual. Glenda married Richard Trammell on December 16, 1967. Thus began the legacy of a faith-based love that bore great fruit through the lives of their descendants.
Mrs. Trammell was a proud cosmetologist that served her community for over 30 plus years. She often volunteered her service at her father’s convalescence center during those years. Kookie never met a stranger, she always had a kind word to share, and would often offer the clothes off of her back to help anyone that would allow her. Kookie shared her love so freely with everyone who was lucky enough to know her.
Glenda Trammell is survived by her husband Richard, son Barry, grandsons Richard and Cameron, and granddaughter Brandi and all of their spouses. She was blessed with a large family including a sister, many brother and sisters in law, grandchildren and great grandchildren. Glenda’s light lives on in the hearts of her precious family who cherish each lesson and memory.
Glenda is preceded in death by her son, Jody and her parents, Monroe and Cordie Belle Bennett.
Kookie is now adding her heavenly voice to the angel’s choir.
