February 21, 1921 –  March 28, 2009  WHITESBORO â?? Funeral Services for Gladys Evelyn Huffman, 88, will be held at 10 a.m. on Tuesday, March 31, 2009 at First Baptist Church in Whitesboro with Rev. Mike Flanagan and Rev. Johnny Reed officiating. Interment will follow at Oakwood Cemetery in Whitesboro.Services are under the direction of Meador Funeral Home in Whitesboro. Visitation will be held at her home, located at 218 Randy St. in Whitesboro on Monday from 7 p.m. until 8 p.m.

Gladys passed away on Saturday, March 28, 2009 at her residence.

She was born on Feb. 21, 1921 in Grayson County to William C. and Nettie (Ridinger) Roberts. Gladys was a member of First Baptist Church in Whitesboro where she sang in the choir and worked in the nursery for many years. She loved sports, especially basketball and earned the nickname â??Bulletâ? . Gladys was also a devoted fan of the Dallas Cowboys. She was the greatest mother, grandmother, sister and aunt.

Survivors include a son, Bobby Huffman and wife Mandra of St. Petersburg, Florida, a daughter, Karen Huffman Loader and husband Bill of Aubrey, 7 grandchildren, Kymberly LeBlanc and husband Josh, Krystal Bowling, John Samuel Bowling III and wife Tiffany, Melissa Tague, Stephanie Tague, Jennifer Tague and Shaun Tague, 6 great-grandchildren, Vincent Harden, Tyler LeBlanc, Madyson LeBlanc, Wyatt LeBlanc, Harley Bowling and Hayden Bowling, a sister, Lois Hunter of Whitesboro, a nephew, Mike Hunter and numerous other nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by husbands, John C. Carmack, Billy Bob Huffman, her parents and 14 siblings.

Pallbearers are John Bowling, Mike Hunter, David Reed, Louis Cox, Tim Reed and Anthony Reed.
