Gina Lyn Garvin of Whitesboro was born August 19, 1966 and passed away on June 4, 2025.  She was baptized at the
First United Methodist Church of Whitesboro.

She has two sons, Riley West Stricker and Connor Charles Hastcoat.  Her father, Robert Garvin presided her in his death, as well as, her grandparents, Charles and Waunema Baum and Bob and Joretta Garvin.  She is survived by her mother, Kay Baum Moczygemba; her stepfather, John Moczygemba; her stepmother, Ginger Garvin; her brother, Kevin Garvin; and her aunts, Susan Cox and Becky Adams.   Her cousins included Christie Huss, Michael Cox, Charlie Cox (deceased), and Dena Culpepper.  She was the great, great, great granddaughter of Ambrose White, the founder of Whitesboro.  She graduated from Whitesboro High School in 1984 and attended Grayson County College before going to Stephen F. Austin University.  Her work history included working as a manager at Bennigan’s Restaurants, Olive Garden, and Starbucks.  With an employment agency, she used her experience to recruit personnel for other companies.  She also worked on the management staff at the Whitesboro Nursing Home.  She collected friends, as her mother said, throughout her life. Even after battling cancer for the second time and rehabbing in a nursing home, she had friends of all walks of life.

A celebration of her life was held at Christie and Jake Huss’s home.

She will rest at Oakwood Cemetery in Whitesboro with those who passed before her.
