June 15, 1940 – July 12, 2014 GARNETT RAY WAREHURST – Funeral Services for Garnett Ray Ware, 74, will be held at 1 p.m. on Tuesday, July 15, 2014 at Meador Funeral Home Chapel in Whitesboro with Rev. Gene Gordon officiating. Interment will follow the service at the Oakwood Cemetery Pavilion in Whitesboro.
Mr. Ware passed away at his home on Saturday, July 12, 2014.
He was born on June 15, 1940 in Woodbine to George Ernest Ware and Eva (Garnett) Ware. He was a member of the 1959 Whitesboro High School Class. He married Cynthia Mary Roberge on Oct. 5, 1962 in Rehoboth, Massachusetts. He was retired from the U.S. Army after 20 years of service as a Sgt. First Class. He served two tours in Germany and one tour in Korea. Stateside, he served in New Jersey, Colorado, Georgia and Texas. He was a member of the DRC – Retired Army Recruiters. He was an avid reader of American history and non-fiction. The focus of his life was spending time with his family who he dearly loved.
Survivors include his wife, Cynthia M. Ware of Hurst; 3 sons, Jeffery Davis Ware and wife, Hala of Hurst, Timothy Lee Ware and wife, Karyn of Seabrook, and Charles Garnett Ware and wife, Catherine of Duncanville; 9 grandchildren; 1 great-grandchild; and a sister, Bobbie Jo Rhodes of Arlington.
He was preceded in death by his parents, George (Hon) and Eva Garnett Ware; and a sister, Dorothy Wildeboor.
