January 17, 1921 –  July 9, 2008  CALLISBURG- Loving wife, mother, and grandmother, Frances Lee Haag, passed suddenly in peace on Wednesday, July 9, 2008 in Abilene, Texas.
Frances Lee (Russom) Haag was born on January 17, 1921 in the home were she resided with her husband for the past 29 years. Her parents were Zac P. and Eulalah Russom of Sherman, Texas.

Memories of Frances and her love of family and friends will endure forever.

Frances was preceded in death by her parents and her husband of 64 years, Dr. E.L. Haag, Jr.

Frances is survived by: three children, Edmund Lee Haag, III and wife Martha Mahon Haag of The Woodlands, Debbie Haag of Midlothian, Harriett Haag of Abilene; seven grandchildren, Scott and Leigh Ann Vadala, Samuel Price Haag, Mallon Norcross, Megan Mahon Haag, Anna Lee Haag, and Lezlei Ruth Haag.

Frances has two surviving brothers: Zac P. Russom, Jr. of Leander, Texas and James Stanley Russom of Watauga, Texas.

Growing up in Sherman, Texas Frances was known for her beautiful whistling ability, even performing on the radio. After graduation from Sherman High School, Frances attended Texas Womenâ??s College and became a laboratory technician. While working in Dallas, Frances met and eventually married Edmund Lee Haag in 1943. The young, married couple lived in Japan while E.L. was serving in the medical corps of the Army during the occupation of Japan. They eventually moved to Hamlin and Freer, Texas, where they began a life long medical practice.

Frances was active in her husbandâ??s career, serving as President and other offices in the Texas Medical Auxiliary. She was also very involved in her childrenâ??s schools, by volunteering and serving as PTA president. Frances and E.L. loved to travel and took many wonderful trips abroad.

Frances was very devoted to her Lord, the church, and her family. She will be dearly missed.

Visitation will be at Meador Funeral Home in Whitesboro on Friday, July 11, 2008 from 4 to 6 P.M. Funeral services will be at Callisburg Church of Christ on Saturday, July 12, 2008 at 2:00 P.M. with burial to follow at Akers Cemetery. Services are under the direction of Meador Funeral Home in Whitesboro.
