February 3, 1931 – July 29, 2009 WHITESBORO รข?? Graveside Services for Fay (Phelps) Mitchell, 78, will be held at 10 a.m. on Saturday, Aug. 1, 2009 at Dixie Cemetery in Whitesboro with Rev. Rick Carney officiating. Services are under the direction of Meador Funeral Home in Whitesboro. Visitation will be from 7 p.m. until 8 p.m. on Friday, July 31, 2009 at the funeral home.
Fay passed away on Wednesday, July 29, 2009 at Wilson N. Jones Medical Center in Sherman.
She was born Feb. 3, 1931 in Whitesboro to Elmer and Lola Jewel (Overton) Phelps. Fay attended school at Red Branch and Whitesboro. She married Euel Mitchell on April 2, 1969. She loved her family, especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Fay enjoyed gardening, her pets, puzzles and sewing.
Survivors include 3 daughters, Kay Cravens and husband Weldon of Whitesboro, Judy Bell and husband John of Sherman, and Mary Cannon and husband, Eddie of Whitesboro; a son, Billy Frank Kelly of Sadler; a sister, Elizabeth Farmer of Whitesboro; and a brother, Delton Phelps and wife, Christalene of Whitesboro; 8 grandchildren and 8 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Euel Mitchell; her parents, Elmer and Lola Phelps; a brother, William Preston Phelps; and a sister, Lavern Watson.
Pallbearers are John Bell, Derek Cravens, Jimmy Kelly, Timmy Kelly, Russ Turner and Eddie Cannon.
