Eva Carleene Cason, 97, of Whitesboro, Texas was called to her eternal home in heaven on Thursday, August 7, 2025, surrounded by her loved ones.
Carleene was born on January 14, 1928 in Grandfield, Oklahoma to Frank and Mabel Lee (Warner) Josefy. She attended Grandfield High School in Grandfield, Oklahoma. On January 16, 1943, Carleene married the love of her life, Tillman George Cason in Temple, Oklahoma. They shared 71 years together prior to his passing in 2014 and raised two beautiful daughters. Carleene worked at the family-owned metal plating company in Dallas and was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Whitesboro. She enjoyed listening to country music, working puzzles and playing games. Carleene liked to travel and enjoyed going on cruises and going to Branson, she went on a cruise to celebrate her 95th birthday. She adored her family and cherished the time spent with them, especially the grandchildren and the great and the great-great-grandchildren. They were all a great source of pride and joy for her.
She is survived by her daughter, Diana Gale and husband, Jim of Gordonville; daughter, Rita Moore and husband, Dwain of Denton; grandchildren, Eric Gale, Dale Moore, Vince Gale, Tracy Hallock, Shannon Curtis, and Christi Fox, twelve great-grandchildren and seven great-great-grandchildren, brother, Harold Josefy of Wichita Falls; and brother, Lewis Josefy of Grandfield, OK., as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
Carleene was preceded in death by her parents, Frank and Mabel Josefy, beloved husband, Tillman Cason, three sisters, Kathrine Kemblin, Mary Alice Kaufeldt, Ethel Marie Tinlin, and two brothers, James Josefy and Paul Josefy.
Graveside services honoring Carleene will be held at 2:00 PM on Saturday, August 9, 2025 at Grandfield Cemetery in Grandfield, Oklahoma, officiated by Rev. Ken Hildebrand. A time of visitation for family and friends will be held on Friday, August 8, 2025 at Meador Funeral Home of Whitesboro from 6:30 PM to 8:30 PM.
Carleene was always my favorite aunt. She was the best. I will miss her terribly.
