Erik Robert Welton, 49, of Gainesville, Texas, passed away on February 17, 2026. He was born on August 8, 1976, in Minot, North Dakota, adopted by Robert Charles Welton, Jr., and Judith (Vraa) Welton.
He enjoyed karaoke, choir, playing role-playing games, and studying/learning about space exploration, along with science fiction.
Erik is survived by his wife, Jaime Ransom of Gainesville, TX, and daughter, Hannah Meyer of Rockville, MN, as well as his sisters Jean-Marie Harris and Jamie Welton. He will also be missed by his beloved dogs, Thor and Molly, and that one random cat under the house.
He is preceded in death by his father, Robert Welton, Jr.
A celebration of life will be scheduled at a later date.

We are so very sorry to hear of Erik passing. Erik was like part of our family living across the street on HIckory. Such great memories of the boys doing their movies and the four of them (Erik, Brandon, Jasper, and Chad) with all their papers and books spread out in the living room playing Car Wars.
Will never forget Erik’s beautiful voice! He is singing with the angels now.
Erik was a remarkable young man and endured so much illness. He will be missed and now he can rest in peace .
