Services for Emma Eudora Barron Braswell, 84, of Gainesville are scheduled for 10 a.m. Thursday at Clement-Keel Funeral Home Chapel with Jonathan Glenn Braswell, Sr. officiating, assisted by Dr. Bennie Slack. Burial will follow in Fairview Cemetery under the direction of Clement-Keel Funeral Home of Gainesville.

Mrs. Braswell died September 21, 2010 with her family by her side. She was born December 19, 1925 in Marshall to Jesse Aaron and Mabel Butler Barron. On June 21, 1946 she married James Lee Braswell, Sr. in Marshall. Emma was a graduate of St. Maryâ??s Academy of Marshall, 1942; the College of Marshall, now East Texas Baptist University, 1943; Howard Payne University, Brownwood, 1945; and began her career in the education field as Registrar and Secretary to the Principal of the Marshall Junior High School, 1945. She took a break to have and mother four wonderful children from 1949 to 1959 and began teaching in 1966. She taught at Valley View, Woodbine, Lindsay, and Era. Mrs. Braswell retired in 1991 after twenty-three years with the Texas Youth Commission in Gainesville. She was a member of the First Baptist Church, Gainesville; a fifty-year-plus member of the Marshall Chapter No. 356 Order of the Eastern Star; a member of the Gamma Sigma Chapter of the Delta Kappa Gamma Society International and a 1995 golden anniversary honoree of Howard Payne University, Brownwood.

Survivors include son, James Lee Braswell, Jr. and wife Becky of Colleyville; son, Jonathan Glenn Braswell, Sr. and wife Judy of Monahans; son, Billy David Braswell of Gainesville; daughter, Sharon Rebecca (Becky) Davis and husband Royce of Carthage; nine grandchildren and six great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her father, Jesse Aaron Barron, January 2, 1960; her mother, Mabel Butler Barron, October 11, 1974; her husband of fifth years, James Lee Braswell, Sr., March 22, 1996 and one sister, Martha Chandler, April 12, 2005.

June 6, 1997 Eudora married Robert Renfro in Sherman, Texas. She is also survived by step-daughter Sue Lowry, step-sons, Marty Renfro and Paul Renfro and his wife Karen.

Pallbearers will be grandsons, James Lee Braswell III, Jonathan Glenn Braswell, Jr. Joshua Braswell, Brandon Braswell, Houston Davis and James Braswell Davis. Honorary bearers will be grandsons, Jesse Braswell, Victor Braswell and granddaughter, Laurie Braswell Taylor. The family will receive friends at Clement Keel Funeral Home Wednesday evening from 6:00 to 7:30.
