June 20, 1927 –  February 15, 2009  WHITESBORO â?? Funeral Services for Doskey Doris Hawkins, 81, will be held at 2 p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 17, 2009 at Meador Funeral Home Chapel in Whitesboro with Rev. Terry Oâ??Toole officiating. Interment will follow in Dixie Cemetery. Visitation will be from 6 p.m. until 7 p.m. on Monday, Feb. 16, 2009 at the funeral home.
Doskey passed away Sunday, February 15, 2009 at Wilson N. Jones Medical Center in Sherman.

She was born on June 20, 1927 in Electra, Texas to Bob Allen Marten and Minneola (McGinty) Marten. Doskey married Arthur Rex Hawkins on March 31, 1947 in Gainesville, Texas. She had worked for Mallouf Manufacturing in Whitesboro, was a florist at Tiptons and was a member of Central Baptist Church in Whitesboro.

Survivors include a brother, Bobby Joe Marten of Sanger, a sister, Ruth Ann Duvak of Amarillo, many nieces and nephews and a host of friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Bob and Minneola Marten, her husband, Arthur Rex Hawkins and a daughter, Minnie Evans.
