March 17, 1922 –  August 1, 2017  Funeral Services for Arleen Maglaughlin, 95 of Whitesboro, formerly of Collinsville will be held Friday, August 4, 2017 at 11:00 a.m. at First Baptist Church, Collinsville, Texas with Rev. Jerry Davis officiating. Interment will follow at Collinsville Cemetery. Visitation will be held Thursday, August 3rd from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Meador Funeral Home Chapel, Whitesboro. Arleen passed away Tuesday, August 1, 2017 at Wilson N. Jones Hospital with her loving family by her side.Arleen was born to James Walter and Chloe Ann (Hodge) Starling on March 17, 1922 in Kenly, North Carolina. She married Ralph Maglaughlin in December of 1945 in Swansboro, North Carolina. She had been a member of First Baptist Church, Collinsville since 1960 where she served on the Building Committee, as well as being church secretary. Arleen was a bookkeeper for Schad and Pulte, Gainesville and worked as a secretary for the County Judge of Hansford, Texas. She was a member of the Red Hat Society and Horizon Club of Collinsville serving as a State Officer. She loved to stay busy cooking, writing books or bird watching especially hummingbirds. She was a published author. Arleen was very supportive of Ralph as an AG teacher and loved her family. She was a wonderful wife, mother and grandmother.
She is survived by her husband, Ralph Maglaughlin of Whitesboro; daughter, Debra Elliott and husband, Randy of Sadler; son-in-law, Randy Thomas of Collinsville; sister-in-law, Peggy Jo Melvin and husband, Harold of Laurel, Mississippi; grandchildren, Amanda Tyler, Patrick Sapp, Kevin Sapp and Leslie Hunt; great-grandchildren, Madison Sapp, Alexis Sapp, James Sapp, Taylor Clark, and Kynlee Hunt; sisters, Kathleen Hinnart of Selma, North Carolina and Joyce Brown of Smithville, North Carolina, as well as numerous nieces and nephews.

Arleen was preceded in death by her parents, James and Chloe Starling; daughter, Wanda Thomas and grandson, Jamey Brookshire; siblings, Viola, Rudolph, Thelma, Elmer Lee and Billy.
