Donna Wilene Cloer, 88 of Gainesville, Texas passed away on July 27, 2025. She was born in Holdenville, Oklahoma on February 22, 1937 to Homer Lloyd Clawson and Willie Ann Hawthorn. Donna married Samuel Oscar Cloer in Gainesville, Texas on January 24, 1959. She graduated from the University of North Texas with a Master’s Degree in teaching and was employed by L.D. Bell High School, Collinsville ISD and Cooke County College over her career. Donna loved spending time with her kids and grandchild, Michael. She loved to read and face time with her son, Keith. She also enjoyed her annual trips to Sulphur, Oklahoma with her sister on vacation.
Donna is survived by her son, Samuel Keith Cloer and wife, Annette Bazaluua of Seattle, Washington; grandson, Michael John Paradise, Jr. of Gainesville, Texas; sister-in-laws, JoAnn Ortez of Valley View, Texas; Kay Kerr and husband, Brad of Collinsville, Texas; brother-in-law, Bobby Cloer of Collinsville, Texas; extended family, Norma Jean Alexander of Gainesville, Texas; special nieces and nephews, Doug & Craig Riggs, Lanea Duncan, Joe Donald Ortez, Jeffrey Ortez, Jimmy Kevin Cloer, Carrie Lopez, Jessica Cloer, Jeremy Clark, Shaun Clark, Patrick Chesire, John Chesire; brother-in-law, Norman Newton.
Preceded in death by husband, Samuel Cloer; daughter, Deann Cloer Paradise; sister, Loy Riggs; sister-in-law, Perlene Newton; brother-in-law, Jim Cloer and Lonnie Cloer.
Pallbearers will be Jeff Ortez, Doug Riggs, Craig Riggs, Joe Ortez, Jim Cloer, Norman Newton, Patrick Chesire, Joey Jimenez.
The funeral service will be held at 11:00 am on Saturday, August 2, 2025 at Meador Funeral Home, 1204 E. California Street, Gainesville, Texas with visitation starting before the service at 10:00 am. Interment will be New Hope Cemetery, Mt. Springs, Texas.
