Donna Marie Grubbs, 64, of Collinsville, Texas went to her eternal home in heaven on Friday, May 10, 2019.

She was born on August 24, 1954 in Brooklyn, NY to John and Josephine (Acerra) Navaretta.  After graduating from Fort Hamilton high school in Brooklyn, Donna went on to Staten Island College to obtain her R.N. license.  She began working after college as a head nurse at Bayley Seaton Hospital on Staten Island then to Harris Methodist Ft. Wort as director of nursing over women’s services and on to Arlington Memorial Hospital as a surgical assessment manager, there she met and married John Grubbs in Arlington, TX on November 7, 1999.  She was one of the most giving and compassionate souls ever, always putting other people’s needs before her own.  She was a soft-spoken woman who treated everyone like her family and never seemed to meet a stranger.  Donna loved her God and her family with all her heart, serving the Lord as a member of the choir and as a past Sunday school teacher at First Baptist Church Collinsville.  John always called her his Angel.  She enjoyed sewing, horses and going on cruises and to islands and beaches.

Donna is survived by her loving husband, John Grubbs of Collinsville, son, Daniel Grubbs and wife, Amanda of Massachusetts, grandchildren, Audrey Grubbs and Jackson Reginald Grubbs, mother, Josephine Navaretta Frizziola of Staten Island, NY, and brother, Vincent Frizziola of Staten Island, NY, as well as a host of other loving friends and family.

She was preceded in death by her father, John Navaretta, brother, John Navaretta, brother, Robert Navaretta and brother, Stephen Navaretta.

Memorial services for Donna will be held at 10:00 AM on Saturday, May 25, 2019 at First Baptist Church of Collinsville, officiated by Pastor Jerry Davis.  She will be honored by the Denison ISD nurses honor guard.
