June 7, 1943 –  December 22, 2016  Funeral Services for Don Chambers, 73, of Whitesboro, Texas, will be held Monday, December 26, 2016 at 10:00 a.m. at Meador Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Scott Jordan officiating. Interment will follow at Mt. Tabor Cemetery. There will be no formal visitation. Don passed away Thursday, December 22, 2016 at Texoma Medical Center, Denison, Texas, with his family by his side.He was born to Albert Guy and Lena (Phelps) Chambers on June 7, 1943 in Olney, Texas. He married Diane Marbury on July 20, 1962 in Whitesboro, Texas. He and Diane were blessed with 54 years together. Don was self-employed as a Pumper in the oilfield for many years. When Don was younger, he loved to boat, especially water ski. He was a member of Bones Chapel Baptist Church in Whitesboro and loved to play the guitar which he took up at age 65 and played for his own enjoyment. He was a big Bluegrass fan and he and Diane attended many Bluegrass Festivals through the years. Don was an avid bowler. He loved dogs, especially German Shepherds, having rescued many during his life time. Don was always thinking of others, helping whenever he could. He was a good human being with a big heart.
He is survived by his wife, Diane Chambers of Whitesboro; daughters, Donna Eury and husband, Steve of Whitesboro and Darla Chambers of Whitesboro; grandchildren, Katy Evans, Mallory Evans, Emily Bullard and husband, Kelby and great-granddaughter, Lillian Bullard.
Pallbearers will be Glenn Sims, Norman Boren, Larry Powell, Jackie Crisp, Gary Roland and Mo Mileur.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Guy and Lena Chambers.
