September 8, 1922 –  May 6, 2011  Dimple Sanders, 88, was born in Sadler, Texas, on September 8, 1922, daughter of Lottie Kniffin and Arthur Hackworth. She died peacefully in Sherman, Texas on May 6, 2011. Dimple graduated as Salutatorian from Sadler High School. She married John Carl â??Bitâ? Sanders on July 1, 1939. During World War II, she was employed in Civil Service and helped ship the troops from Camp Howze to Normandy for D-Day. She was awarded two service emblems from Army Forces Headquarters for Excellence. She spent 35 years helping her husband in the building business doing many jobs including being an Insurance Agent, Bookkeeper, Buyer and Decorator. She was a long time member of the First Baptist Church of Whitesboro, serving as Historian and a member of the Building Committee. She was an original member of the Planning Committee for the Whitesboro Peanut Festival and was a Past Matron of Order of Eastern Star. Her interests included golf, cross stitching, history and hunting. She was patriotic and loved to travel, visiting Europe as well as every State in the United States. Above all this, she was a kind, strong, wise and caring Christian lady who was greatly cherished by her family and friends.
Dimple is survived by her son, Randy Sanders and his wife Diana; two grandchildren and their spouses, Stacy and Cory Wrenn and Jon and Mandy Sanders; four great-grandchildren and a number of nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband John Carl in June 1996; a brother, J.R. Hackworth in January 1996; and a sister, DeAva Rogers in January 2000.

Services will be under the direction of Meador Funeral Home and will be held on Monday, May 9th at 1:30 pm. at the First Baptist Church in Whitesboro with Reverend Mike Flanagan officiating. Burial will immediately follow in Oakwood Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Gene Bryan, Wayne Chisum, Curtis Clark, Tommy Neal, Gene Walsh and Gene Young.
