April 15, 1928 – March 12, 2009 WHITESBORO รข?? Memorial Services for Dewey Leon Cardwell, 80, will be held at 2 p.m. on Sunday, March 15, 2009 at Meador Funeral Home Chapel in Whitesboro with Rev. Rick Carney officiating.
Dewey passed away Thursday, March 12, 2009 at his home in Whitesboro.
He was born on April 15, 1928 in Whitesboro to William Arron Cardwell and Sara Elizabeth (Willingham) Cardwell. He married Naomi Clark on Nov. 27, 1948 in Dallas , Texas . Dewey served in the U.S. Coast Guard and was a machine operator for Simmons Mattress Co. He loved people and enjoyed garage sales.
Survivors include his wife, Naomi Cardwell of Whitesboro, a son, Wayne Cardwell of Cedar Crest, New Mexico, a daughter, Debbie Reynolds of Collinsville, 3 brothers, Jerry Cardwell of Ardmore, Oklahoma, Travis Cardwell of Collinsville and Melvin Cardwell of Dotson, Texas, 3 sisters, Mary Frances Gravette of Whitesboro, Nelladene Green of Grapevine and Goldie Smith of Dallas, 3 grandchildren and 7 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, William and Sara Cardwell, 5 siblings and a grandson, Bryan Cardwell.
