August 28, 1915 –  May 5, 2009  Deuel passed away on Tuesday, May 5, 2009 at Wilson N. Jones Medical Center in Sherman. No services are planned.
Deuel was born on August 28, 1915 in Soper, Oklahoma to Weaver and Noma Cowan. He married Edna Redfearn in September of 1938. He was a painter and a handyman by profession.

Survivors include 2 daughters, Carolyn Carter of Whitesboro and Glenda Markham of Whitesboro, 8 grandchildren, 15 great-grandchildren and 5 great-great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Weaver and Noma Cowan, wife, Edna Redfearn Cowan, 2 sisters, Syble Ray and Zalease Murphy, a brother, Truman Cowan and a daughter, JoAnn Sanders.
