November 15, 1932 –  November 23, 2012  WHITESBORO – Funeral Services for Delmo Lawrence Wylie, 80, will be held at 10 a.m. on Tuesday, Nov. 27, 2012 at the First Baptist Church in Era with Dr. Eddie Chennault officiating. Interment will follow in Era Cemetery. Services are under the direction of Meador-Clement-Keel Funeral Home in Gainesville. Visitation will be one hour prior to the funeral service at the church.Mr. Wylie passed away on Friday, Nov. 23, 2012 at his residence.
He was born on Nov. 15, 1932 in Era to Lawrence and Jewell (McKinney) Wylie. He graduated from Era High School and served in the US Army during the Korean Conflict. He married Alice Ann Priddy on May 12, 1956 in Gainesville. He retired from Texas Instruments as an Engineer Tech after many years of service and was a member of Temple Baptist Church in Gainesville. He was a loving husband, father and grandfather.
Survivors include his wife, Alice Wylie of Whitesboro; a daughter, Nickey McEwen of Ada, Oklahoma; 4 sisters, Ruby Grundy of Era, Rita Young of Era, Mary Farmer of Pueblo, Colorado, and Betty Wood of Rockwall; and 4 grandchildren, Rebecca Koch and husband, Mark of Abilene, Rachel McEwen of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, Chris McEwen of Ada, Oklahoma, and Paul McEwen of Ada, Oklahoma.
He was preceded in death by his parents; a brother, Jimmy Lee Wylie; and a sister, Elizabeth Payeur.
Pallbearers are Milton Wilkerson, Rex Grundy, Dan Grundy, Richard Payeur, Phil Young and Ken Blakey.
