July 30, 1942 –  October 2, 2015  GAINESVILLE – Funeral Services for Dee Skaggs, 73, will be held at 2 p.m. on Wednesday, Oct. 7, 2015 at Meador Funeral Home Chapel in Whitesboro with Rev. Rick Carney officiating. Interment will follow at Collinsville Cemetery. Visitation will be from 6 p.m. until 8 p.m. on Tuesday at the funeral home.Dee passed away on Friday, Oct. 2, 2015 at River Valley Health and Rehabilitation Center in Gainesville.
He was born on July 30, 1942 in Collinsville to A.D. and Billie (Pierce) Skaggs. He married the love of his life, Brenda Kay Anderson on April 6, 1963 in Dallas. He was self-employed in construction. Dee had a passion for working on and showing cars, especially his Corvette. He was a happy man, always smiling, that loved his friends. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather. He will truly be missed.
Survivors include his wife, Brenda Skaggs of Gainesville; a son, Joey Skaggs of Gainesville; two daughters, Laura Wilson (Bobby) of Gainesville and Debbie Gentry (Rocky) of Gainesville; five grandchildren, Waylon Wilson (Brittiany) of Sanger, Nicole Calhoun (Colby) of Gainesville, Wes Gentry (Haleigh) of Gainesville, Chaz Gentry of Gainesville and Rowdy Gentry of Gainesville; five great-grandchildren, Candice Calhoun, Colton Calhoun, Keaton Gentry, Avery Wilson and Bryleigh Gentry; two sisters, Lola Holland (Curtis) of Gainesville and Janie Pike (Dwayne) of Leona.
He was preceded in death by his parents and two brothers, Larry and Eddie Skaggs.
Pallbearers are Waylon Wilson, Wesley Gentry, Chaz Gentry, Colby Calhoun, Rowdy Gentry and Lommie Buckaloo.
