Juanita McDonnell, 96, of Whitesboro, Texas, passed away on August 25, 2025 at Ranch Care Cottage in Sherman. Texas,
She was born on March 29, 1929 in Sherman, Texas. Juanita graduated from Whitesboro ISD and TWU in Denton. She was a retired teacher from Crutchfield ISD in Sherman, Texas. Juanita was married to George Clinton McDonnell until his passing. She was a devoted member of First Baptist Church in Whitesboro and loved her church family. Juanita loved to cook, attend church and play dominos.
Juanita is survived by her son, Clint McDonnell of Whitesboro; sister, Bobbie Stevens of Richardson; grandchildren, Lacey Shelton and husband, Brian of San Antonio; Justin McDonnell and wife, Jessica of San Antonio; and great-grandchildren, Blakley, Hayes, Emma, Brandon, and Addy.
She was preceded in death by her husband, George McDonnell, her parents, and one sister.
Graveside services honoring Juanita will be held at 10:00 AM on Friday, August 29, 2025 at Oakwood Cemetery, officiated by Rev. Rick Carney. A time of visitation for family and friends will be held at Meador Funeral Home of Whitesboro on Thursday, August 28, 2025 from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM.

Clint, I just read your mother’s obituary. I’m so sorry for your loss. Your mom was one of the sweetest women I had the privilege of knowing. A few years ago Lisa and I were at my sisters who lived on Center Street. I saw your mom and Lowaine Crooke coming down Center Street from the Peanut Festival. Lisa made the comment that they looked like two young school girls with their arms locked together. I know each was supporting the other so one would not fall. Your mom was a beautiful woman who will be missed by many. Had I known of her passing I would have attended her memorial service.
