Dana Cherie Woolf,73, of Gainesville, TX passed away on February 6, 2020 at the Pecan Tree Health and Rehab in Gainesville. Cremation arrangements are under the direction of Meador Funeral Home in Gainesville.

Dana was born on February 3, 1947 in San Antonio, TX to Eugene and Lenona Myers.  Dana worked for the Lewisville School District for many years in administration. She was strong in her Christian faith; she was a wonderful supportive mother to her children and a doting grandmother. She was a faithful friend. Dana always had a beautiful smile on her face and she never met a stranger. She was a blessing and a light of sunshine; she was the most forgiving person and she was very non-judgmental. She loved spending time with her family especially her grandchildren. With Justin from age 4 until he graduated, she never missed a single game of all the sports he played throughout the years. She loved going to Jake’s soccer games and band performances, with Finley she loved sitting in her big chair reading books and when she got older she loved going to her soccer games and ballet recitals and doing arts and crafts; with Bennett when he would cry as a baby (and he cried a lot) it never bothered Dana, she would just pat his back and rock him until he was content, she loved spending time doing everything and anything with him.  Dana’s greatest joy in life was spending time with all of her children and grandchildren.

She is survived by her father, Jesse Verdin of Mesquite, TX; daughter, Ronda Odneal of Gainesville, TX; son, Dean Horton of Mckinney, TX; son, Regan Horton of Mckinney, TX; grandchildren, Justin Odneal, Jake Horton, Sarah Harris, Finley Horton and Bennett Horton; daughters-in-law, Debbie Horton and Dijana Horton; son-in-law, Pete Van Es and granddaughter-in-law, Elizabeth Odneal.
