February 19, 1915 –  February 27, 2011  D.L. Rogers, 96, of Gainesville died February 27, 2011 at Pecan Tree Health and Rehab Center. Services for Mr. Rogers will be 2 p.m. Thursday, March 3rd at Clement-Keel Chapel with Rev. Ronnie Conyers officiating. Burial, with military honors, will follow in New Rest Haven Cemetery. Grandsons will serve as pallbearers. Visitation will be Wednesday evening from 7-8 p.m. at the funeral home.
D.L. was born February 19, 1915 in Gordonville, Texas to Deloscus and Luna (Taylor) Rogers. He attended Walnut Bend School. D.L. married Lillie Catherine Jarrell April 13, 1942 in Gainesville. He served in the US Army and was a prisoner of war, earning a Bronze Star. Following his military service D.L. was the owner of Rogers Sinclair Service Station. He served as Cooke County Commissioner of Precinct One and was a member of Custer City Baptist Church. He loved to garden, deer hunt and read.

Survivors of D.L. Rogers are his wife of over sixty-eight years, Lillie Rogers of Gainesville; son, Doyle Lee Rogers of Gainesville; son and daughter-in-law, Earl Richard and Sara Rogers of Soper, Oklahoma; sister, Lorane Darrah of Martinez, California; six grandchildren; three step-grandchildren; fourteen great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; several nieces and nephews and special friends, Martha and Ray Mozingo and Dianne Gilbreath. He was preceded in death by his parents, Deloscus and Luna Rogers; sisters, Stella Gelokaske, Susie Rollins, Luna Trammell and Christine Carpenter and brothers, Burt Rogers, Buddy Rogers and Elige Rogers.
