The lover of laughter and purest of hearts, Cody Wade Williford was born June 8, 1974, in Kansas City, Missouri. Cody was injured by a car accident on December 2, 1975, and was cared for by his parents for 45 years. Cody went to heaven September 11, 2021.
Early on he attended The Institutes for the Achievement of Human Development, in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, a program to help brain injured children achieve wellness. He attended school in Mesa, Arizona, Brooksville, Florida and graduated from Special Education at Gainesville Highschool 1996, having excelled in smiles and laughter.
He was a worshiper and joy maker at Willowwood Church of the Nazarene in Denton, Texas.
Cody loved a good joke, and just plain silliness. He adored his parents and family and captured the heart of every person who knew him.
He is survived by his parents, Phillip and Letricia Williford of Gainesville, TX, sister, Anna Derbyshire and husband Todd of Fort Worth, TX, brother Dallas Williford and wife Misty of Weatherford, TX and brother Jason Williford and wife Betsy of Southlake, Texas. Eleven nieces, eight nephews, ten great-nieces and eight great-nephews. Two aunts, two uncles many cousins and other relatives.
He is preceded in death by grandparents, Al and Mary Williford, and George and Evelyn Spires. Cody joined his great aunt, Ann Land on the same day in heaven.

We had the pleasure of attending the same church. Cody was a beautiful soul and was always smiling when we talked to him.
Cody’s spirit will live on in the lives of all who came in contact with him. When I think of Cody, it brings a smile to my face.
