On Sunday, August 2, 2020, Cleatius Bernice Jones, loving mother and grandmother passed away at age 91.
Cleatius was born on March 9, 1929 to John and Flora Cavin in Ethel, Texas. She married Raymond Lee Jones in Dallas, Texas on December 10, 1945. Cleatius was graceful, loving and the most caring women anyone would have ever met. Known to most as Granny, she was a Granny to anyone that needed just one more person to love them unconditionally. Granny was always there for anyone that needed something. Whether you were family or a stranger, you could always rely on Granny to be there.
Cleatuis was a member of the Collinsville Church of Christ. She enjoyed quilting and giving to charity. She was an avid painter, with landscapes being her main enjoyment. She loved cooking for our family and friends. She enjoyed having family and friends over for visits and special holidays. She found the joy in flowers and how they help people.
Cleatius is preceded in death by her husband, Raymond Jones, daughter, Janice Jones, parents, John and Flora Cavin, and brothers, Junior Cavin and William Cavin. She is survived by her son, John “Ronnie” Jones, daughter Tonda Bryant, grandchildren, Darrell Jackson Jr., Robert Bryant, Cassie Shelton, and Bart Bryant, eight great-grandchildren, four great-great-grandchildren, and nephew Wayne McCorkle.
Graveside services honoring Cleatius will be held at 10:00 AM on Thursday, August 6, 2020 at Collinsville Cemetery in Collinsville, Texas, officiated by Ricky Patterson. A time of visitation will be held for friends and family on Wednesday, August 5, 2020 from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Meador Funeral Home in Whitesboro.
To the sweetest woman that I have ever met and who tooo me in as her own family. I cherish her sweet hugs and talks.

I will always cherish the great memories of growing up in and around your house. You took me in on day one and I always felt like one of your kids. I look back and can really appreciate all the late nite talks and advice you were always trying to teach us two hardheaded little boys. I’ll always remember the many great meals and how you were always there for us no matter what . You are and always will be so much to so many of us and I know I’ll be seeing you again. Granny was a special lady and loved everyone as if they were her own. She was the best cook hands down and always willing to make us the best banana nut bread ever made. She is loved by so many. We are so glad that we got to have granny in our lives.
what a wonderful lady she was, she will be truly missed but in a much better place what a reunion with Lee. She was maid of honor at my wedding in 1963, will sure miss her
